Of the 1.3 billion people with blindness and vision loss globally, 746 million or 55 percent are women. Overcoming barriers to women’s vision care can unlock cascading socioeconomic benefits across the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and enable women to fully participate in social, economic, and political spheres.
