Abortion access is not only fundamental to women’s health, safety, and prosperity but also to the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, with critical impacts on public healtheducation, and socioeconomic indicators. Yet, forty percent of women around the world live in countries with partially or fully restrictive abortion laws. This Insight Brief by FP Analytics, produced with support from the Roberta Buffet Institute for Global Affairs at Northwestern University, explores the politicization of abortion access, and identifies pathways to securing safe, legal abortion for all.
